The American Psychiatric Association Foundation PASS Program
American Psychiatric Association Foundation PROJECTAbout This Project
Summary
The APA Foundation (APAF) PASS program is a new initiative for medical students and psychiatry residents to engage with the APA/APAF and learn more about APAF initiatives and our fellowship programs. As an incentive, we provide participants with complimentary APA Annual Meeting registration and hotel accommodation. The APAF collaborated with several APA departments (Education, Meetings, Membership, Finance) to develop, launch, and market the program in a two-month period (January –February).
Goals & Objectives
Enhance the professional development of residents/medical students with a travel + registration opportunity to attend the APA Annual Meeting. Increase residents/medical students' knowledge and awareness of the APAF’s Mental Health Care Works campaign, APAF fellowships, and other APAF programs.
Results & Impact
PASS opened for applications on February 12 and closed on March 15, 2024. We received 537 APAF Ambassador applications, 351 fellowship applications, and 159 APA Scholar applications. All fellowship applicants received free registration and 500 Ambassadors/Scholars received registration plus hotel.
