About This Project
Summary
In its third year, American Psychiatric Association Foundation’s (APAF) Mental Health Care Works When You Make the Call empowers individuals to seek treatment with a clear call to action: Make the Call. Through national PSAs, storytelling videos, website resources, and paid digital media, the campaign supports Americans better understand how to actively seek care. In 2025, new assets and Spanish-language outreach made the messaging more emotionally resonant for diverse audiences.
Goals & Objectives
Year three of our campaign aims to increase help-seeking, raise awareness of mental health resources, and reduce stigma. Through relatable English and Spanish stories and condition-specific tools, we encourage real conversations, teach people to connect to care, and drive audiences to take action.
Results & Impact
With 834M+ impressions, the campaign reached Americans at scale. After a year of messaging, nearly 3 in 4 adults exposed to campaign messaging said they’d be likely to seek help for mental health concerns (with nearly a quarter being absolutely certain) vs. just over half in unexposed areas.
