About This Project

Summary

The APA Foundation’s Mental Health Care Works campaign encourages people to take their first step toward mental health support through Make the Call. In this featured video, Naomi shares her experience with postpartum depression after her son’s birth, when isolation and overwhelm made life difficult. By asking for help, she got the care she needed and began to heal. With 1 in 7 new mothers facing postpartum depression, stories like Naomi’s show that treatment works, and recovery is achievable.

Goals & Objectives

Our goal is to support mothers facing postpartum depression, reduce stigma, and raise awareness of effective treatment. By sharing relatable stories parents can see themselves in, the campaign guides audiences to actionable resources and fosters open conversations about maternal mental health.

Results & Impact

The campaign delivered 834M+ impressions, sharing bilingual messages about postpartum depression and the importance of early help-seeking. Nearly 3 in 4 people exposed to the campaign said they would likely reach out for support, compared to just over half of those unexposed.
