About This Project

Summary

Audible's Future Leaders program is a workplace immersion experience for students in Newark and other Audible hubs beginning in high school, with the option to continue into college. We're reimagining high school internships with one of the few year-round, paid programs where students work with professionals at a global company while receiving school credit. Future Leaders work across teams at Audible, enriching our company culture and deepening our employees’ ties to our local communities.

Goals & Objectives

Through groundbreaking collaborations with schools and educational organizations, the distinctive model integrates immersive work experience into students' academic journeys, allowing youth from underserved communities to access career-building experiences rarely available at the high school level.

Results & Impact

In one year, interns accumulate over 700 hours of work experience. 98% graduate from a four-year college with a bachelor’s degree, compared to 41% of Americans and 20% of Newark students. And 66% of alumni say they secured higher-quality internships and/or jobs than they otherwise would've landed.
