About This Project
Summary
Every year, at least 13 million deaths are attributed to avoidable environmental causes. Empirical research shows that “edutainment” media from trusted journalistic sources is the single most influential variable in public understanding on climate-related topics. Utilising Planet Earth III as a springboard, we united two powerhouse brands - BBC Studios Natural History Unit and Wellcome - in a shared vision to deliver an impact campaign highlighting climate change as a human health issue.
Goals & Objectives
Spotlight Endangered Ecosystems via BBC Earth and 40+ partners Connect to Human Health with 11 films on climate change and health Showcase Meaningful Solutions by partnering with Earthrise to reach under 35s Empower Global Change with ‘manifesto’ film screening at inaugural ‘Health Day’ at COP28
Results & Impact
The campaign consistently exceeded KPIs and the association with Wellcome added credibility and expertise. Our films were viewed by 20m people, with 1.6m quality views, 1.3m quality engagements and 70% of viewers aged under 35. The human health stories drove high engagement and view times.
