About This Project

Summary

“Everybody’s Work" is a solutions-oriented documentary campaign by SHIFT Nursing for RWJF addressing systemic racism in nursing through emotionally powerful, nurse-led storytelling. Supported by educational resources and targeted outreach, the film empowers nurses to challenge racial inequities at schools, hospitals, and associations nationwide, where they are encouraged to host screenings to spark institutional change, meaningful conversations, and a commitment to equity across healthcare.

Goals & Objectives

Galvanize nurses nationwide to combat systemic racism by inspiring nurse leaders and educators at 10% of nursing schools and hundreds of hospitals and associations to host screenings, fostering transformative dialogue, actionable education, and sustained commitment to equity within nursing.

Results & Impact

Screenings have been requested by 603 nursing schools, 570 hospitals, and 223 nurse organizations. Of a total of 2,700 requests, 124 of those came from nurse leaders. The film has now been viewed by 12,300+, officially selected by two film festivals, and catalyzed curricular and policy reforms.
