About This Project

Summary

Global Community Day (GCD) is Citi’s annual tradition of giving back through volunteerism. Taking place throughout June, Citi colleagues, alumni, family and friends globally join service events and donate their time and talent. Volunteerism is a key way that Citi delivers on its mission to enable economic growth and progress at the local level. For GCD service events, Citi collaborates with local community organizations that understand the most pressing community needs of the moment.

Goals & Objectives

GCD began in 2006 in recognition of a unique opportunity to harness the dedication of colleagues to their communities. Through volunteerism, Citi seeks to make a positive impact, to reinforce the firm’s strong culture of service and to deepen relationships with local communities.

Results & Impact

2025 is the 20th anniversary of GCD, with over 1.2M volunteer engagement over the past two decades. Citi volunteers have packed millions of meals, supported thousands of students, cleaned up parks, beaches and more. In 2025, there were over 45k volunteer engagements across 80+ countries/territories.
