About This Project
Summary
In 2023, the VERSIONS Youth Fellowship supported 27 at-risk BIPOC youth with a global, virtual, educational program. Through an innovative curriculum, mentorship, and collaboration with celebrity artists and thought leaders, Fellows created purpose-driven music and films, expanded their networks, and led social impact projects. The program equipped marginalized youth with employable skills, amplified their voices, and empowered them to become leaders in their communities.
Goals & Objectives
We sought to create an educational Fellowship for at-risk BIPOC youth with low barriers to entry. VERSIONS aimed to improve mental health, increase networks, of support, educate on systemic oppression, create songs and films for social change, and train youth to lead community impact projects.
Results & Impact
VERSIONS created 27 global social impact projects, 27 short films, and 30 songs. 100% of Fellows gained confidence and tools to combat racism, and 96% expanded their networks. Leadership confidence rose from 35% to 92% by program's end, showing its profound impact on participants and communities.
