About This Project
Summary
The problem of (in)accessibility on today's web isn't a lack of guidelines or tools, it's a lack of empathy. How can this be created - and used to inspire action by those responsible for a more inclusive web? A11y-AI generates empathy by making accessibility understandable, and relatable. By using synthetic users, it explains accessibility from the perspective of those impacted. It translates abstract and technical accessibility reports into a more tangible, personal review.
Goals & Objectives
The main goal for this project is to raise awareness about accessibility and to inspire action by those responsible for creating a more inclusive web. At the same time, we want to make sure that people within the accessibility community feel represented by our synthetic users.
Results & Impact
The project has received positive feedback from both the accessibility and web professionals communities. It helps people realise the importance of accessibility themselves, or is used as a tool to convince others to put accessibility on the agenda within their organisation.
