About This Project

Summary

Animal shelters are overburdened with an increasing number of pets up for adoption and limited resources, so staffs struggle to write tailored bios for each pet. That’s why we created Rescue Writer, a groundbreaking, web-based AI tool designed to instantly create emotional pet profiles to help get more pets adopted. Utilizing OpenAI’s advanced technology, this tool helps craft custom pet profiles and is available for free to all animal shelters, volunteers, and foster homes.

Goals & Objectives

PetSmart Charities’ objective is to get as many pets in homes. Through this tool, the goal was to create as many profiles as possible that alleviated animal shelter partners’ time and helped write emotional and impactful profiles that could ultimately help more pets get adopted.

Results & Impact

With no media dollars, we used AI to change the lives of pets by improving their chances of getting adopted. In the first month, we saw over 16,000 profiles created and to date we’ve had over 4,000 shelters, volunteers, and fosters use our website, totaling over 103,000 profiles and counting.
