About This Project

Summary

In a 2022 survey, 83% of DoSomething members expressed they lacked the tools to take care of their mental health when overwhelmed. In response to this need and national data about the mental health crisis plaguing Gen Z and Gen Alpha, we launched Camp Reboot. With support from Blue Shield of CA, the year-long virtual camp offered a safe, joyful space for young people to gain skills to support their self-care routines and how they care for the mental health of their peers and communities.

Goals & Objectives

Camp Reboot centered on 3 goals: Mind Craft introduced art as an effective mental health outlet Certified Bestie used free skills trainings to foster emotional resilience and peer support conversations EMBER Collective equipped young leaders to incubate their own community mental health initiatives

Results & Impact

We engaged over 100,000 young people with over 2,000 pieces of art submitted through Mind Craft and campers earned 7,000 Certified Bestie certificates. We fueled nineteen members to take action to implement mental health initiatives through the EMBER Collective.
