About This Project
Summary
Dena Care Collective, led by former mayors Aja Brown and Michael Tubbs through FORWARD and End Poverty in California, reimagines disaster response for communities of color, launching in the aftermath of the devastating Eaton Fires in LA and aimed at rebuilding and protecting a vital Black enclave of the city.
Goals & Objectives
Dena Care Collective aims to create a model for long-term recovery in the face of disaster by delivering immediate cash aid, offering case management, and connecting impacted residents to critical resources.
Results & Impact
Dena Care Collective raised over $1 million for families and connected hundreds of fire-impacted households to aid, case support, and recovery resources. The platform reduced barriers to access and delivered targeted, equitable relief in coordination with local partners and government agencies.
