About This Project
Summary
The Fair Labor Association’s project, Harvesting the Future (HTF), is a collaborative program addressing child labor, responsible recruitment, and fair compensation in high-risk agricultural supply chains across Türkiye, Egypt, and India. It brings together companies, suppliers, civil society organizations, and governments to build scalable solutions to improve labor conditions for workers and their families using community-based interventions, joint risk assessments, and more.
Goals & Objectives
To eliminate child labor, promote responsible recruitment, and enable living wages in agriculture by strengthening due diligence systems, empowering local actors, and fostering accountability through brand-supplier partnerships and government engagement.
Results & Impact
HTF’s 130+ partners reached 20,000+ workers, families, and suppliers across 3 countries and led to the rollout of more than 2,000 child protection and educational services, legal wage benchmarks, and supplier capacity building - setting a model for remediating labor issues in upstream supply chains.
