About This Project

Summary

FARE’s public service announcement, Ready to Act, features acclaimed film actress Angela Bassett, who stars as first responder and LAPD patrol sergeant Athena Grant Nash on the television show 9-1-1. First responders know that when it comes to saving a life, anyone can step up and be a hero—if you’re Ready to Act!

Goals & Objectives

The goal is simple: being prepared can make all the difference. Epinephrine is the only drug that can stop anaphylaxis, a kind of severe food allergy that can be deadly. Whether you suffer from food allergy or not, FARE wants everyone to be ready to act in case of an anaphylactic emergency.

Results & Impact

The Ready to Act PSA videos (all versions), starring Angela Bassett, has garnered over 650,000 views. Even if you don’t have food allergy yourself, recognizing the signs of anaphylaxis and knowing how to respond could help save a life. Being ready to act benefits everyone.
