The Family Engagement Partnership: Building + Sustaining REAL Family Engagement
Flamboyan Foundation PROJECTAbout This Project
Summary
Flamboyan Foundation’s Family Engagement Partnership (FEP) is a flagship program revamped in 2023 which builds staff capacity to address family engagement challenges in their schools. It allows schools to develop their culture and practice of REAL Family Engagement. Flamboyan supports FEP schools in building a sustainable REAL Family Engagement strategy, tapping into expert Flamboyan coaches, training, funding, and access to Flamboyan’s proprietary data platform.
Goals & Objectives
FEP schools work to grow and sustain their own family engagement practices through four phases: relationship building, academic partnering, leadership for program sustainability, and graduation. Experiences will also help challenge participants towards an equitable and anti-racist system.
Results & Impact
31 partner public schools have graduated from the FEP, more than 6,000 DC public school educators have been trained, and 88% of families in partner schools agreed or strongly agreed that they feel welcome in their child’s school.
