Accelerating the Development of ALS Treatments with the Launch of AMP® ALS
Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) & Ruder Finn PROJECTAbout This Project
Summary
30,000 Americans are diagnosed with ALS yearly, a relentless disease with few treatment advances. FNIH, a leading funder of public-private partnerships, launched the Accelerating Medicines Partnership in ALS. To announce it amid a crowded neuroscience space, we crafted a story highlighting the emotional/physical toll ALS has on patients & families. Through earned media outreach and a program video, we combined scientific insights with testimonials to position AMP ALS with key audiences.
Goals & Objectives
Generate awareness of AMP ALS’s impact on ALS patients & families by securing coverage in high-reach media outlets Increase visibility of FNIH thought leaders Spark interest from advocacy groups, partners & donors Highlight the effectiveness of FNIH’s partnership-based research model
Results & Impact
Secured 15 media placements (Forbes, Healio) reaching 92M+. Coverage featured key FNIH leaders, humanized the program, and generated a biotech partnership inquiry. The CBS package aired 200 times on affiliate stations nationwide, including top 10 markets, reaching a potential audience of 3M+ people.
