About This Project
Summary
ICM and Direct Relief envisioned an open-access platform to unite global data on midwifery and health outcomes that would help midwives and advocates turn data into action. The site makes data approachable, showcasing global context and inviting users to explore country-level data with visualizations, scannable sections, and customizable comparisons. More advanced users can find full data sets in a connected ArcGIS hub. The site prioritizes accessibility for diverse, international users.
Goals & Objectives
The Hub needed to be an intuitive experience that delivers critical and actionable information to midwives and advocates around the world. Inviting branding, clear visualizations, and customizable comparisons make complex data easy to digest and share.
Results & Impact
This powerful tool is the first to bring together global data on midwives, their work, and the health outcomes they impact. At launch, UNFPA called it “a fantastic and much-needed resource that will undoubtedly make a significant impact on midwifery advocacy, research and service improvement.”
