About This Project
Summary
Vote Run Lead (VRL) wanted to demonstrate that an effective path for achieving a more reflective government could be encouraging women to run in every contest for an open legislative seat, in every state. VRL partnered with Graphicacy to develop two complementary components for this project – A scrollytelling narrative delivering context while outlining the overarching goals and areas of opportunity –and– an interactive explorer that gives users potential strategies and outcomes by state.
Goals & Objectives
VRL wanted to show that if enough women ran for open seats, up to half of U.S. states could see a women’s majority in their statehouses within ten years. VRL had the data to prove it, wanted women to envision themselves reaching the majority state legislatures, and we illustrated the path forward.
Results & Impact
Post-launch, VRL shared that “Graphicacy created this huge powerhouse tool for people to really truly understand the impact of the challenges and opportunities.” They envision more women vying for open seats and people willing to fund the effort because of Graphicacy’s work.
