About This Project

Summary

Humanity Auxilium is a WHO-certified, emergency medical relief nonprofit deploying medics to the Gaza Strip since Feb 2024 to treat thousands of patients under life-threatening circumstances. In March 2025, HA took over Rantisi Hospital, the only remaining children’s hospital in Gaza where a million children are suffering. Otis Lyons, a runner from California, pledged to run the entire coast of California in 40 days in a public event streamed on Instagram to raise funds for Rantisi Hospital.

Goals & Objectives

The primary objective was to raise $100K in 40 days to fund one month of operations at Rantisi Hospital. As donations came in, we stretched the goal to $150K. Our secondary objective was to raise awareness for HA on social media and we aimed to increase our Instagram followers by 25%.

Results & Impact

An outstanding success: Otis’ run raised $128K (28% over goal) and HA doubled its Instagram followers, i.e. a 100% increase (75% over goal). Unexpected impact: the community! Dozens of people came out to run with Otis and cheer him on, united in their desire to help care for the children of Gaza.
