About This Project

Summary

Delivering a healthy baby requires good prenatal care, including ultrasound machines—but high cost equals short supply in African nations like Cote D’Ivoire. Without the backing of a bank loan, this and other medical equipment is out of reach, resulting in lack of access to health care services. The Africa Medical Equipment Facility, an innovative partnership, helps small and medium-sized healthcare providers In Africa secure loans to purchase or lease needed medical equipment.

Goals & Objectives

We bring readers into a clinic in Cote d’Ivoire to show how the Africa Medical Equipment Facility partnership offers access to health care services. We underscore the importance of this model of innovative collaboration because $25-$30 billion investment is needed to meet Africa’s healthcare demands

Results & Impact

About 650 people have read this story in English and French, and there have been about 1,000 engagements with the video on social media.
