Summary
In Malawi, efforts are underway to ensure access to reliable, affordable internet and to train the workforce for a digital future. Investments in digitalization could lead to an increase in productivity growth for African businesses, raising wages and creating jobs. Companies and regulators are searching for ways to overcome the high price of smartphones and expand internet access so that small businesses can benefit from the tech innovations emerging across Africa.
Goals & Objectives
We sought to introduce audiences to Malawian entrepreneurs and small business owners on the cusp of a digital transition, highlighting the potential for progress. We also told the story of the tech companies and innovators pushing Malawi toward a digital future.
Results & Impact
The animation video accompanying this story has over 114,000 views on YouTube and about 1,000 engagements. The story has about 7,200 readers.
