About This Project
Summary
In this seven-part series, Professor James Boyce delivers a deep, thought-provoking analysis of a topic often ignored or labeled as “non-economic” by mainstream economists. The series opens with a historical exploration of both successes and failures in using economics to end wars and sustain peace. Boyce then delves into the complex interplay of greed and grievances in civil wars, drawing from his first-hand experience in post-war El Salvador in the 1990s.
Goals & Objectives
At INET, we create series/courses for students around the world that won't appear in most university curriculums. This way they can see economics being done in non conventional ways and students interested in these topics can find each other on our networks and learn and grow together.
Results & Impact
The series and accompanying educational materials exist on more than 10 social and educational platforms. It is watched every day around the world and is a free public good always. We plan to produce updated materials in the next year covering more recent conflicts around the world.
