About This Project
Summary
Level Forward, Colt Coeur, & Funroe Productions produced a one-night-only benefit reading of Ruby Rae Spiegel's play, Dry Land, a biting and honest portrayal of two high school girls, one of whom needs an abortion. The reading was directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt and featured Maya Hawke, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Dominic Sessa, Alice Kremelberg, Eden Marryshow.
Goals & Objectives
The event spotlighted how reproductive justice issues affect younger people, particularly high school girls, while also creating a platform for NYAAF to increase their exposure in the media, network and grow their mailing list, catalyze fundraising from new sources, and explain the work they do.
Results & Impact
The sold-out performance of 245 attendees raised $18k+ for NYAAF, and made a significant contribution to its signature grassroots fundraising campaign that raised a total of $150k. The event introduced NYAAF to new donors and subscribers and provided media visibility in the entertainment trades.
