About This Project
Summary
The LGBTQ Herstory Month 2023 campaign set out to gather, interview and photograph 5 celebrated Latinx queens from the RuPaul's Drag Race community. We partnered with a favorite queer photographer of ours, Erik Carter, who successfully shot unique backgrounds for the queens plus various backgrounds for the iconic group shot, all at the cinematic Paramour Estate. We interviewed them about the Latinx heroes that inspire them and deserve the platform that RuPaul’s Drag Race has online worldwide.
Goals & Objectives
A major goal for this project was to take the learnings of the 2022 campaign and build on its success to rollout an even more powerful version in 2023. We wanted to educate and inspire younger fans of the show with this incredibly unique and impactful social multimedia stunt.
Results & Impact
LGBTQ Herstory 2023's premiere was a success with overwhelming reaction and fan consumption, reaching a cumulative 198k views and 2.7M impressions. Its success led to the greenlight of a 2024 campaign that will continue to honor queens from the RuPaul’s Drag Race community and their queer heroes.
