About This Project

Summary

The Portal by New Visions is a student planning, data, and collaboration tool available to all NYC schools as well as city agencies such as CUNY and the Department of Homeless Services. With proven impact to student outcomes in attendance and graduation, the Portal allows educators and their partners to better support students by highlighting those who need attention, simplifying workflows to address learning and promotion gaps, and allowing districts to monitor progress across schools.

Goals & Objectives

Designed in deep partnership with NYC educators, the Portal gives schools and districts the tools they need to improve student and school outcomes in attendance, skills acquisition, test scores, and graduation.

Results & Impact

1,600+ schools and 200+ shelters have access to the Portal, supporting 40,000+ students living in shelter and 800,000+ students across NYC. With no usage mandate, 95% of NYC public schools have used the Portal in the past year, and school usage has grown 42% in the past 12 months.
