About This Project

Summary

Pen Parentis has created a YouTube series to inspire creative writers who have kids to fight for their writing careers - by presenting small groups of successful writers discussing various aspects of the craft and career of all genres of writing -- all of the featured writers are parents. The writers are in small groups and Salons are co-hosted so that many solutions are offered. Viewers can direct the conversation in communal chat (parents need to be off-camera!).

Goals & Objectives

We want to show the broadest range of successful writers - so we choose not only bestselling writers and award-winners, but also writers of genre and writers who have turned a book into a streamer, we choose writers who came from poverty. We show those writer-parents that did NOT give up.

Results & Impact

We presented 32 writers ranging from horror writers to poets, memoirists to playwrights. All of them have kids. All of the conversations were vibrant and engaging. About 50% of viewers are already Pen Parentis members, but 5% of viewers join Pen Parentis to become a part of this growing community.
