About This Project
Summary
Petco Love Lost is a product that uses patented image recognition technology to reunite lost pets with their owners. One major problem with the lost and found pet space is that there are too many platforms where people can post a lost or found pet. But we need all lost and found pets to be in a single database in order to reunite them. So our strategy is to be the single product that unites all the pet data from different platforms, so people only have to search in one place.
Goals & Objectives
1. Partner with other platforms where lost and found pets are posted so we can pull all lost and found pets into one searchable database. 2. More than half of pets entering shelters are classified as "stray", which often means "lost". Help shelters and save lives by reuniting pets faster.
Results & Impact
We integrated with both Ring/Neighbors and Nextdoor. We also integrated with nearly every major animal shelter in the United States. Now, our image recognition technology can match pets across different platforms: animal shelters, Nextdoor, Neighbors, and our own Petco Love Lost product.
