About This Project
Summary
Queer Prom MT was formed in response to the needs of LGBTQ2S+ and allied youth in Missoula and Western Montana. Our all volunteer and teen-led team hosts two large annual events - an adult Prom (fees and donations collected) and a teen prom (free) each spring. In 2024, we launched twice-monthly youth events. In 2025, we launched our Queer Prom Families program, to provide fun events for queer and allied families and youth. Our annual reach is more than 1,500 people (1,000 youth) and growing.
Goals & Objectives
To provide safe and joyful spaces for queer and allied youth in the Missoula and Western Montana region. To support the development of similar programs across our communities in Montana, and nationwide.
Results & Impact
In 2025, we had 400 adults and 300 teens attend our annual Queer Proms, plus hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, and resource orgs. We also introduced our first family event, with over 75 adults and children. Though our monthly programs, we reach hundreds of queer and allied youth each year.
