About This Project

Summary

Sesame Workshop has launched a new website to help provide support to children and families after a crisis. We direct people to this site using targeted social media campaigns with information on child stress and self care for parents. Parents and international partners can then print these resources or distribute them to other families digitally. The printable activity sheets, storybooks, and a video playlist are now available in English, Arabic, Dari, Hebrew, Pashto, Spanish, and Ukrainian.

Goals & Objectives

We are offering these free-for-use resources as part of Sesame Workshop’s mission to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder and a moral imperative to deliver joy, comfort, and moments of play and normalcy to children after traumatic events.

Results & Impact

Using one example, our paid digital campaign in Morocco following the earthquake reached 6.8M moms in 40 days, which is 85% of the available population (on Meta). The campaign achieved 2.8M ThruPlays (at least 15 second-views) and 200K link clicks to the further resources on our website.
