About This Project

Summary

What started out as one woman handing out socks to the homeless, has grown to a network of donations and a larger project of Go Bags for the NYC hospitals to supply to those in need. Weekends handout locations are rotated to maintain community outreach. Weekly between outreach and networking to work with companies such as Bombas and Timberland for supply donations as well as school outreach for volunteers.

Goals & Objectives

Our goal is to continue to grow the Go Bags project in NYC hospitals so that more hospitals can benefit. Right now one is going through 30 or more bags a week and so we are looking to add to volunteers to assemble the bags, more companies to supply donations in order to grow.

Results & Impact

The number of people who are homeless who we see and provide needed items such as sleeping bags, hygiene products and more is huge. Hospital workers have noted that the Go Bags are keeping people from ending up back in the hospitals.
