2025 STAATUS Index (Social Tracking of Asian Americans in the United States)
The Asian American Foundation PROJECTAbout This Project
Summary
This past May, The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) released its fifth annual Social Tracking of Asian Americans in the U.S. (STAATUS) Index, the leading national study of Americans’ perceptions of Asian American communities. This year, we sought to examine how sentiments may have evolved since the pandemic, and engaged with content creators, journalists, and policymakers to creatively share the survey’s key takeaways with new readers – especially younger audiences on TikTok and Instagram.
Goals & Objectives
We had three key goals: 1. Reveal new insights on Americans’ views of Asian Americans 2. Identify notable trends that have emerged since 2021 3. Solidify the STAATUS Index as a must-read resource for journalists and lawmakers as they develop stories and policies impacting Asian American communities
Results & Impact
The STAATUS Index received 576 press hits, generating 1.07B impressions. Data was featured in NBC News, Axios, and The New York Times, and blanketed Asian ethnic media like the World Journal and Korea Times. AAPI content creators amplifying the survey garnered 1.49M views and 69,000+ engagements.
