Summary
Jon Stewart, Ronny Chieng, Desi Lydic, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta, Troy Iwata, Josh Johnson, and Grace Kuhlenschmidt, alongside Lewis Black & Dulcé Sloan, tackle the Biden-Trump rematch that nobody wants, kicking off The Daily Show’s Indecision 2024 election coverage. Since 2000, The Daily Show has built a dynamic legacy of special election coverage across every presidential and midterm election cycle, including originating a full week of shows from the RNC, DNC, and key battleground states.
Goals & Objectives
The Daily Show’s longstanding commitment to in-depth election season coverage creates more informed and engaged citizens by helping make sense of the increasingly chaotic election cycles, distilling the need-to-know facts for voters and helping to call out hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle.
Results & Impact
The Daily Show continues to gain viewers, illuminating the intense stakes at play this election season–from Stewart’s first episode back (3M total viewers, making it #1 in late night) to live debate coverage (4.2M viewers, making it the most-watched program on TV that night).
