About This Project

Summary

The "Disability Is NOT A Dirty Word" campaign by Easterseals SoCal aims to break the stigma around disability and highlight the diversity and strength within the community as a source of pride. For over 25% of people in the US, disability is part of who they are, but talking about disability is often avoided due to fear and misunderstanding. Featuring 12 individuals who share their personal stories and experiences with disability, our powerful PSA changes the narrative by celebrating disability.

Goals & Objectives

With goals to celebrate DisabilityPride and elevate the voices of the disability community by changing people’s attitudes about disability, Easterseals Southern California aims to foster open dialogue and acceptance with an interactive multi-media campaign BY, FOR, and ABOUT people with disabilities

Results & Impact

With 524,804,627 Impressions across TV, online, OOH, and print the intentional efforts resulted in above-average representation of the disabled community in the media (3.5% per Nielsen). From creative strategy to production, over 66% of those involved in creating the NADW campaign have a disability.
