In this special episode of The TMI Project Story Hour, Jay Jackson, known to many as RuPaul’s Drag Race superstar Laganja Estranja, reveals a more intimate side of her true self. Our award-winning podcast features stories from more than a decade of live performances, profiling the brave souls who stepped on stage and shared the stories they were most afraid to tell. In the podcast, we take a deeper dive, and share the stories behind the secrets, and what happened next.

Goals & Objectives

To uplift and share Laganja Estranja / Jay Jackson's incredible story of discovering her trans identity and transforming herself into the trans woman she is today. Additionally, this episode was used to tease season 7 of the podcast, a mental health collection entitled "Vicarious Resilience."

Results & Impact

The episode has had more downloads than most in our collection. Additionally, Laganja received our coveted Voices in Action Award and joined us for the event back in September of 2023, months before the episode was released on 4/20/2024. It has become a crucial part of our trans stories library.
