Gender Equality 101

About This Project

Summary

Doing good shouldn’t be so complicated. And it shouldn’t be so intimidating. So, we’re making it simpler! Gender Equality 101 takes audiences on Lilly Singh’s learning journey as she asks and answers questions that many of us are hesitant or embarrassed to ask. The series breaks down the big issue of gender equality and shares one small fact in each video. Gender Equality 101 is designed to make audiences feel less helpless and more empowered to speak up and take action around gender equality.

Goals & Objectives

We want to normalize not knowing everything so that we can normalize learning, especially on an issue like gender equality that affects all of us. Our goal is for audiences to learn something new about gender equality each week and feel more empowered to engage in conversation and action.

Results & Impact

Gender Equality 101 garnered significant views with strong engagement. The series was discussed and recognized at UNGA 78. More importantly, most of the topics covered were requested by Unicorn Island's community – overcoming fear around asking questions and feeling safe and empowered to do so.
