About This Project

Summary

Where to build safe houses in a changing climate? The Canadian Climate Institute wrote about how Canada can meet its housing needs while keeping people safe. This first-of-its-kind analysis explores how policy makers can minimize the costs of climate-related damages to improve affordability. Voilà: created the visual identity and striking data visualizations to support the Institute's key messages.

Goals & Objectives

Influence policy changes to increase housing and reduce the threat of extreme weather disasters to new homes, by offering specific policy recommendations to safer ground—protecting communities and saving billions of dollars.

Results & Impact

Launched in February 2025, it saw 180 media hits and a 100M reach in its first week. Since, it’s had ongoing coverage in major (Globe & Mail, CBC, Global News) and trade outlets. Over 250 decision-makers have been briefed and its messaging is still conveyed by housing advocates and industry leaders.
