About This Project
Summary
DreamBig is an innovative program with a local youth mentoring organization and WTW made to diversify the workforce pipeline. We equip students from underrepresented groups beginning in 10th grade for two years. Students are taught through a series of live and virtual workshops & paid internship principals of business- i.e. teamwork, time management, project management, financial management, public speaking, soft skills, office tools, etc- and the importance of giving back to their community.
Goals & Objectives
Goals are to generate interest of diverse talent in the insurance and business industry, inspire students to confidently network, prepare students for entry level roles/apprenticeships at WTW or other businesses, at least one job offer, stir interest of other businesses to replicate the effort.
Results & Impact
One student has been informally offered an apprenticeship, more than 75% of students have expressed interest in application, all have: created LinkedIn profiles, experienced in-person networking, grown in confidence and skills, and another organization has expressed interest in replication
