Summary
AARP Purpose Prize winner Reneé Fluker founded Midnight Golf to close the opportunity gap for Black youth in Detroit. What began as 17 students has grown into a college-bound pipeline serving 5,000+ teens. The video launched to spotlight her vision of equity through mentorship and skill-building.
Goals & Objectives
To showcase how one woman’s response to systemic inequity became a city-wide movement, and to inspire audiences—especially older adults—to champion racial and educational equity in their own communities.
Results & Impact
Reneé Fluker received $50,000 to help open a new 40,000-square-foot facility with a permanent golf arena. Distributed across every major platform—event, social, press kits, YouTube, and AARP.org—the story sparked ongoing conversations around equity and access.
