Goals & Objectives
Our objective was to trace the journey that some plastic waste takes across the world. Never before had specific American corporations and government leaders been so publicly confronted with the impacts of the plastic waste America ships abroad in the name of “recycling.”
Results & Impact
In addition to revealing illegal dumping and importing practices by Walmart’s recycling partners abroad, this report appears to be the first and only time American journalists have ever successfully tracked waste from U.S. corporations to foreign shores using tracking devices.
