About This Project
Summary
TJC Project (Targeting Journalists is a Crime) is a memorial and movement affirming that journalism is not a crime, but silencing journalists is. It exposes rising attacks on journalists, honors the fallen through the Tribute Wall and personal stories, and demands accountability with case files, research, and advocacy. By linking awareness to action, TJC turns grief into pressure for change, mobilizing global attention to protect journalists who risk their lives daily to defend press freedom
Goals & Objectives
The TJC Project set out to create the first platform of its kind to honor journalists who have been targeted across the world and to document and expose crimes against them. It seeks to demand accountability, ensuring truth and justice endure globally while commemorating the lives of the fallen.
Results & Impact
The TJC Project is unique as it builds impact through bringing together a global coalition of press freedom, human rights, media, and legal organizations. By creating this coalition of forces, we expose crimes against journalists, demand accountability, and protect free expression.
