Summary

BYkids pairs leading filmmakers with talented kids from around the world to create youth-made documentaries that confront global issues and inspire empathy, connection, and change. Our new initiative, BYkids Academy, focuses on workshops aimed to equip youth with tools to create mini-films that build activism, transforming media consumers into creators who impact communities world-wide.

Goals & Objectives

BYkids Academy equips youth with documentary-making skills that build agency, connect identity to social issues, foster collaboration and spark empathy and change through film. BYkids Academy provides educators with powerful tools to engage students in social-emotional learning and civic dialogue.

Results & Impact

All participants reported that filmmaking helped them express themselves and build confidence; 92% wanted to continue creating. Educators report BYkids films deepened engagement and helped students gain new perspectives. Showcases engaged communities, amplifying youth voices in different countries.
