Summary

As Australia's national public media service, the ABC exists to be educators and entertainers, sharing stories that celebrate the richness of Australia's multicultural society. Celebrating culture, connection to Country, storytelling and language, the Acknowledgement of Country video honours the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, offering a powerful and respectful tribute to Australia’s past, present and future.

Goals & Objectives

The goal was to create a warm, inclusive celebration of First Nations communities that reflects ABC’s role in shaping national identity. Broadcast daily, used internally and on ABC iView, the video offers cultural education through respectful storytelling.

Results & Impact

Beamed into homes, computers, phones and boardrooms across the nation, the Acknowledgement of Country video reaches 50,000 viewers per week providing an ongoing and joyous celebration of First Nations people and culture to all Australians.
