Science for the benefit of humanity: "Beautiful Biology" is an immersive online resource that showcases the visual wonder of the biological world through intuitive design and interactive tools. Users can browse by themes like cell, body, and nature; zoom into intricate imagery; and explore related content through smart filters and surprise features. Designed for both casual exploration and deep learning, the platform brings scientific content to life for students, educators, and the public.
Goals & Objectives
This project aims to build a vibrant community of life science researchers and photographers who use BB to showcase their work and discover others’ visual storytelling. We seek to raise public awareness of HHMI’s mission and support educators with real-world classroom content.
Results & Impact
Using imagery from HHMI and the scientific community, this project is becoming a trusted resource for classrooms, museums, libraries, and science centers—illuminating core biological concepts and inspiring people with the beauty and complexity of life science research.
