Summary
Bilen Mesfin Packwood is a strategic communications leader advancing racial and social justice. She built her agency, Change Consulting, into a majority people of color, pro-Black, full-service shop supporting leaders across the racial justice movement. Her team secures major media coverage and drives nuanced narratives on complex issues centering Black people and people of color.
Goals & Objectives
Bilen Mesfin Packwood set out to build a thriving, pro-Black, people-centered agency. Objectives include advancing the movement for racial justice through tailored communications strategy and implementation by leveraging the team’s expertise to magnify stories for change.
Results & Impact
Recent results include 600+ placements for Barbara Lee’s Oakland mayor campaign, thousands more for additional clients overall; launching Black Freedom Fund’s LEAD initiative; and supporting social change communication with training, tools, and resources to advance the movement.
