About This Project
Summary
The David Z Foundation, dedicated to transforming lives through music education, collaborated with the Washington Capitals hockey team to create an original song titled "ALL CAPS" in celebration of the Capitals' 50th anniversary. A class of 4th graders wrote the song, recorded it, and hit the ice for rink time with the Caps.
Goals & Objectives
As part of the Caps in School program presented by KPMG, musician Paulie Z from the foundation worked with third through fifth-grade students at Brooke Grove Elementary School to write and produce the track, which features enthusiastic chants and lyrics honoring the team's history.
Results & Impact
The project also involved Capitals alumni like Peter Bondra and Alan May, blending music education with sports fandom to engage young participants in a creative process that culminated in a music video and public release.
