About This Project
Summary
Alcohol consumption leads to nearly 3 million deaths a year worldwide. And during the winter, misuse gets worse. A recent study proved that “Colder Weather and Less Sunlight Increase Alcohol Consumption and Alcoholic Cirrhosis Worldwide.” So we created a campaign, led by a short, animated film called “The Snowball,” to alert people to the risks of alcohol misuse, show them how it can happen to anyone, and encourage them to be mindful, so that what starts off small doesn’t snowball out of control
Goals & Objectives
The primary objective was alcohol awareness. Saving lives by having people be situationally aware of the risks and mindful of their drinking, particularly in the winter, was our vital goal. Secondarily, we aimed to bring people to SAFE Project’s Alcohol webpage to find resources and connect to help.
Results & Impact
3.9MM digital impressions in 1st week. SAFE Project’s 2nd most watched film, tripling average monthly views. 10% of TheSnowball.org visitors clicked to help at safeproject.us. Said a viewer: “I feel like this means more to me than I could try to explain but I love whoever made this God spead love u”
