About This Project
Summary
The Ocean – Five Years is the deeply personal story of composer Brett McCutcheon, who turned the pain of losing his brother Ryan into music that gives voice to love and loss. Featuring musicians from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, June Bracken, The Voice’s Chris Jamison, and other acclaimed artists, the documentary fuses music with personal stories of grief, resilience and hope.
Goals & Objectives
Grief affects each of us. We’ve all had tremendous loss at one time or another. Our hope is that it gives hope to those who need it. Our goals are to remind people, especially young people, they are not alone, we are more connected than divided and to share their story.
Results & Impact
Officially selected 10 International film festivals, wins in best documentary at Vienna Independent Film Festival & Audience Choice at Pittsburgh Shorts. Screening events includes Annual Conference of Bereaved Parents of the USA, Universities, WQED & plans for community impact especially for kids.
