About This Project

Summary

In February 2024, Forbidden Stories, an international network of investigative journalists whose mission is to pursue the investigation of assassinated, imprisoned or threatened journalists, launched the Gaza Project. An unprecedented cross-border investigation into allegations of Israeli forces targeting journalists and press infrastructures in Gaza and the West Bank. The Gaza Project is unique in bringing together diverse journalists from various nationalities in the name of public interest.

Goals & Objectives

Through our unique team made of 18 newsrooms, the Gaza Project aims to: - investigate the allege targeting on journalists and media infrastructure in Gaza and in the West Bank - continue the reporting of Palestinian journalists who were prevented from finishing their work

Results & Impact

Published in Arabic, French, English, German, French, and Hebrew, the Gaza Project reached at least 34.4 million people, based on the cumulative average daily audience of our investigative partners. Our findings were also cited by UN Special Rapporteur Irene Khan.
