About This Project

Summary

In honor of Black History Month, we launched a music video Doodle celebrating house music, a genre with roots in Chicago’s Black Community. Developed in partnership with DJ and producer Kelly G, and a team of guest designers and animators, the Doodle spotlights house music's rich culture. Set to Marshall Jefferson’s "Move Your Body," it highlights the genre's beats, outfits, and DIY approach, driving engagement and celebrating its legacy.

Goals & Objectives

Celebrate and encourage users to learn more about house music, recognizing its origins and cultural significance within the Black Community.

Results & Impact

Sparked positive conversation and appreciation for Black artists' contributions to house music (25% positive sentiment). Social engagement outperformed benchmarks (+301% YoY). "Celebrating House Music" became the most viewed short on the GoogleDoodles YT channel, with 5.9M views at launch.
