About This Project

Summary

Actions by the U.S. government in the first 8 months of 2025, along with growing skepticism of science and higher education, introduced an existential threat to medical research in the country and at Harvard. We developed a robust array of materials across multiple digital platforms to convey to taxpayers, policymakers, prospective students and partners, and potential funders the critical need to preserve research at Harvard Medical School to continue to power new treatments that save lives.

Goals & Objectives

Raise awareness of and inspire audiences to advocate for what’s at stake, incl. scientific progress, human health, researcher/student livelihoods, economics, and U.S. competitiveness. Address misconceptions. Explain concepts like indirect costs. Show that grant $ to Harvard flows across the country.

Results & Impact

>3 million video views and 27,000 unique views of articles. >700 first-time donors, many citing our storytelling. Media coverage reflecting strong message permeation. Positive engagement on social channels; commenters correcting others’ misconceptions. Materials used by federal affairs team.
